CPA-led · Aurora, Ontario
You don't need a full-time CFO. You need one on call.
Lender-ready statements, audit-ready books, and a straight answer on where the cash went — for Ontario owner-operators who can't afford a six-figure finance hire.
Firm registered and in good standing with CPA Ontario
Years in senior management inside operating businesses
Industries, from construction and retail to telecom and SaaS
Financial statements prepared to standard, with working papers
The situation
You're running the business.
Who's running the numbers?
The month closes and you're guessing.
Revenue looks fine. The bank balance doesn't. Nobody can tell you which jobs, which locations, or which services actually made money.
Someone always wants statements.
Your lender, your surety, your landlord, the CRA. They want them under ASPE, they want them soon, and they want them to hold up.
A penalty costs more than the fee you saved.
Most compliance problems don't come from wrongdoing. They come from nobody explaining the rules until after the assessment arrives.
What I do
Four services.
One standard.
Bookkeeping, done properly
Cloud books maintained to professional standards — reconciled, categorized, closed monthly. HST and payroll filed on time. The foundation everything else depends on.
Financial statements under ASPE
Compilation engagements prepared to standard, with the working papers behind them. Ready for your bank or your surety without a scramble.
Audit & review readiness
When an engagement is coming, I prepare the file, reconcile the schedules, and train your team on what the auditor will ask. You walk in ready instead of exposed.
CFO & advisory
Where the cash went, where it's going, and what to do about it. Forecasting, margin analysis, owner compensation structuring, financing and acquisition support.
How I work
A studio is a place where work gets made,
not just processed.
The Diagnostic
A full review of your books, structure and filings. You get a written findings document: what's clean, what's exposed, what's costing you money. Even if you go no further, you keep it.
The Build
I rebuild the foundation — chart of accounts, cloud stack, reporting cadence, close checklist. Structured so your numbers mean something, not just balance.
The Rhythm
Monthly close, filings handled, and a reporting package you'll actually read. Quarterly, we sit down together and go through it properly.
The Training
I teach your team to hold the line — what to code where, what to keep, what the auditor will ask for. My goal is a client who gets stronger, not one who gets dependent.
Sectors
Built for owners who are
also the operator.
Construction & Trades
Job costing, WIP and over/under-billing, holdback and its HST timing, T5018 reporting, WSIB clearance. Statements your surety will accept.
Multi-Location Hospitality
Location-level P&Ls, prime cost tracking, and consolidated reporting for groups running three or more sites.
Retail & Pharmacy
Inventory margin, mixed-supply HST, and acquisition debt that has to be serviced while the business grows. Both sides of the counter, handled.
Professional Practices
Professional corporations, associate arrangements, and owner compensation structured properly. Whether you're buying in, buying out, or opening a second location.
Qualification
Is this a fit?
This is for you if
- You're incorporated and have staff on payroll
- A lender, surety, college or investor expects real financials
- You're making decisions — hiring, buying, expanding, exiting — that need numbers behind them
- You want a partner in the business, not a filing service
This isn't for you if
- You're looking for the lowest monthly rate
- You need a return filed and nothing more
- You're pre-revenue or pre-incorporation
- You want to hand over a shoebox once a year and hear nothing in between
Pricing
From $750
per month
I publish a floor, not a menu. The right scope for a single-location practice and a contractor with a bonding program are genuinely different — a price list would only tell you which one I guessed at.
Better records rarely mean a bigger tax bill. More often it's the same number, or a smaller one — and this time you can defend it.

About
I've never been the accountant
who visits once a year.
Fifteen years inside operating businesses, closing the month.
My background is industry, not audit practice. Fifteen years in senior management across construction, food retail, fashion retail, insurance, telecom, SaaS, government and non-profit. In every one of them I was on the inside — responsible for the numbers, not reviewing them afterward.
That means I've been the one waiting on the auditor's request list. The one explaining to an owner why the income statement says profit while the bank account disagrees. The one who had to make reporting genuinely useful to somebody running a business, not merely correct.
It's an unusual range, and it taught me something a narrow path doesn't. Cash behaves completely differently across models — a construction holdback, a retail inventory cycle, a deferred revenue balance — but owners ask the same three questions everywhere. Where did it go. What is it about to do. What should I do about it.
I started PS Accounting Studio because the cheapest option almost never is. I have watched owners save a few hundred dollars on fees and then lose multiples of it to penalties, interest, and months spent on the wrong side of a CRA letter — when proper records would have produced the same tax bill, and often a smaller one.
Good accounting isn't a cost you tolerate. It's the thing that removes an entire category of problem from your life. That's what I built this studio to do.

Common questions
Before you book.
Do I have to leave my current accountant?
Not necessarily. Some clients keep their year-end accountant and use me for everything in between. Others consolidate it all here. I'll tell you honestly which makes more sense for you.
Do you work outside those sectors?
Yes. Those are the ones I know deepest, but the work translates. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so on the first call.
What software do you use?
QuickBooks Online for most engagements, with supporting apps chosen for your business. If you're on something else, I'll assess whether it's worth moving.
Can you fix books that are behind?
Yes, and it's more common than you'd think. Cleanup is scoped separately as a project and quoted before work begins.
Do you handle personal tax for owners?
Yes — the owner's personal return is included in every corporate engagement, because personal and corporate planning aren't separable.
What happens on the first call?
Thirty minutes. You describe the business and what isn't working. I tell you whether I can help and roughly what it would cost. No pitch.
Know the number.
Sleep better.
Thirty minutes is enough to tell whether we're the right fit. You'll leave the call knowing where you stand, whether or not you hire me.
